The Blue Vase: Robert E Wells solo exhibition in London: Russell Gallery, London

A solo show featuring recent work by Robert E Wells at the Russell Gallery in London from the 6th February to 1st March.

The show is an evocative narrative of places that Robert has visited, often using his family as models.

The Blue Vase is the second book by the award-winning artist Robert E. Wells. Following on from ‘In Perspective’ 2018, Wells uses his expressive, densely layered technique to explore compositions involving figures – as well as his characteristic architectural spaces and landscapes. The works do not present specific narratives (although there may be a personal account behind them) yet inspire powerful emotional responses. It is impossible not to create stories around Wells’ paintings, even though every viewer’s story will be a different one. The book includes over eighty images illustrating Wells’ work and includes details about his life, and the influence behind many of the paintings.
