Andrew James leads three sessions that contrast and compliment each other by using different techniques to compile a portrait likeness.
Led by NEAC member artist Andrew James in Tunbridge Wells, these three evening classes aim to contrast and complement other by seeking to compile a portrait likeness using three subtly varied approaches.
The goal is essentially the same for each class, yet using differing mindsets to tease out and secure a likeness an instructive and varied set of outcomes will be achieved
Discipline and creative instincts will be equally called upon.
Tuition
Guidance and instruction will be given on a one-to-one and group basis.
Demonstrations will be given at the beginning of each class.
Ability
The course will be for those with some drawing experience through to advanced.

ABOUT YOUR TUTOR
Based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, Andrew James was winner of the Carroll Foundation Award in 1998, BBC's Star Portraits in 2005 and the Changing Faces Award in 2013. Andrew was elected to the Royal Society of Portrait Painters in 2002 and its Vice President in 2008. He was elected a Member of the New English Art Club in 2017.
WHAT TO BRING
You need to bring your own materials as follows (no materials will be supplied): A2 cartridge paper pad and drawing board, easel, willow charcoal, eraser, masking tape, charcoal fixative.
Tea, coffee and probably biscuits will be available.
