(UPDATED: Meet at Wish Tower Car Park, Eastbourne)
A one-day workshop to explore the use of the figure in context to drive narratives based on plein air sketching from life ...
Starting at Eastbourne Pier, Robert will outline his plan for the day. He will challenge you with a series of quick-fire sketchbook exercises in both monochrome and colour.
Together, you will then move to a nearby area where the landscape is more intimate and atmospheric. This part of the session will begin with a brief discussion as to how the human figure is used as a tool to develop stories, create tension, and suggest ambiguous or symbolic meaning.
Through a series of longer studies, you will then work with a clothed model placed into the landscape to explore the figure within the context of these surroundings.
At the end of the session there will be an opportunity to examine your findings and consider how these ideas can be used in the future.
All levels of experience are welcome.
