Learn about the rich history and amazing potential of egg tempera as a medium.
The day will start with a demonstration by Ruth on how to prepare gesso boards, students will then get their own boards for applying the final gesso layer themselves.
Ruth will then demonstrate the making and using of egg tempera medium, talking about her own technique and giving an insight into her practise.
For the rest of the day students will be able to create a small painting of their own in egg tempera on the gesso boards that they made earlier.
Ruth will give advice and input through the day, showing photographic examples of artists, past and present, who have used egg tempera.
