Artist Statement
Respect for the two dimensions of the picture plane are of great importance to Andrew. He attempts to tread the fine line between the figurative and abstract in order to attain this. The search for new, original and interesting images is ongoing and endless.
Method of Working
Andrew paints outdoors and in the studio using oil on canvas. Many studies are made using a terracotta waxy pencil. He travels the globe in search of subjects that are visually interesting and exciting.
