Paul Handley NEAC was born in Newark, Nottinghamshire in 1964, where he continues to live and work.

Paul was born in Newark, Nottinghamshire in 1964, where he continues to live and work. He received his initial artistic training at the Norwich School of Art, with a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art Painting. He then completed a post-graduate Art Teacher’s Certificate at Goldsmith’s College, University of London, and an MA in art history and critical theory at the Winchester School of Art and the OU.
Paul has been a visiting lecturer at a number of FE and HE institutions, teaching drawing, painting and art history. Throughout the 1990s he exhibited in a number of prestigious open and group exhibitions including A View of the New, The Discerning Eye and the Hunting Observer Art Prize. In 1992, he won The Spectator Art Prize and in 1997 was elected a member of the New English Art Club. Illness prevented him working from 2001 until 2014, when he returned to painting.
