See below for a selection of Frequently Asked Questions about the NEAC
NEAC MEMBERS
Q. Where can I find out more about the current NEAC Members?
A. See our Artists section where we have profiles of all our current members.
Q. Where can I learn about past NEAC Members? Can you tell me if a specific (deceased) artist was a member of the NEAC?
A. See our list of Past NEAC Members which includes links to find out more about their lives and work. You may also want to search the Tate Archive for further historical documentation. They have an online catalogue as well as Library & Archive Reading Rooms.
Q. How do I apply to become a NEAC Member Artist?
A. Read about our membership application process.
ANNUAL EXHIBITION
Q. When and where is the next NEAC Annual Exhibition?
A. See our Annual Exhibition section for details of forthcoming and past annual exhibitions.
Q. Do you exhibit at any other times of the year or outside of London?
A. Yes, we hold occasional NEAC exhibitions at galleries around the UK, and there’s a year-round calendar of solo and group exhibitions from our Members. See our Exhibitions section for details.
Q. How and when can I submit my work to the Call For Entries for your Annual Exhibition?
A. The Open Call is managed by Mall Galleries. The entry window is a usually approx February to April, but these dates tend to move around a bit, so it's best to sign up to our monthly e-newsletter to be the first to know when we announce next year’s dates. If you have any problem or questions regarding your entries during the submission window, please email info@mallgalleries.com or call +44 (0) 20 7930 6844 between 9:30am–5:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Q. Where can I view catalogues of past Annual Exhibitions?
A. You can view online versions of past catalogues going back as far as 2016 in the Annual Exhibitions section of our website.
Q. I have a painting with a NEAC exhibition sticker on the back. Does that mean the artist was a member? Can you tell me more about the painting or artist?
A. As we exhibit non-members’ work alongside that of our members, a NEAC exhibition sticker does not necessarily mean the artist was a NEAC member (see our full list of past members). We have very limited information on specific works from historical NEAC Annual Exhibitions, particularly when it comes to non-members’ work, so we are unable to assist with enquires of this nature. You might want to try the Tate Archive.
Q. What is the relationship between the NEAC and Mall Galleries?
A. The NEAC is a member of the Federation of British Artists (FBA) along with several other prestigious art societies. The FBA is based at Mall Galleries where they administer and host a year-round programme of Annual Exhibitions for all its societies.
PAINTING SALES
Q. Where can I buy paintings, drawings and prints by NEAC Members?
A. Head to our Buy Art section to browse a wonderful selection of works by our member artists. Free UK P&P. Plus, of course, you can see hiundreds of original works up close and personal at our Annual Exhibition at Mall Galleries each year.
Q. I am outside of the UK. Can I still buy paintings from you?
A. Yes! Use the ‘Enquire’ button alongside the artwork you are interested in to request a price including shipping.
Q. I have a limited budget. Is there anything I can buy without breaking the bank?
A. Browse our selection of works under £1,000. We also have a selection of reproduction prints that offer excellent value.
Q. Is it possible to see a work in person before making a purchase?
A. Outside of our Annual Exhibition at Mall Galleries each summer, we do not have a bricks-and-mortar gallery. All the works listed for sale in the Buy Art section of our website are stored by the individual artists. It is sometimes possible to arrange a private viewing or studio visit, but this will depend on the artist. Use the ‘Enquire’ button (alongside the painting you are interested in) to make a request, and we’ll see what we can do.
Q. Do your member artists accept commissions?
A. Some of them do, yes. If there's a specific artist you have in mind, drop us a message and we will ask them for you. It's helpful if you can give us an idea of your budget.
Q. Can you sell my painting for me on your website?
No, sorry, we only sell new works by and on behalf of NEAC Members.
Q. Can you re-sell an artwork that I own by a NEAC artist?
A. No, sorry, we can’t get involved with any secondary market sales. You might want to contact an Auction House for help with this.
Q. Can you tell me how much my painting by a NEAC artist is worth (or if it’s genuine)?
A. No, sorry, we are unable to assist with valuations or provenance. As above, we’d suggest trying an Auction House.

A. Head to our Classes & Workshops section where you will find a selection of educational events.
